Transportation Planning Engineer
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for transit, traffic, road and intersection design solutions, quantity and cost estimates
- Responsible for collection and review of roadway, traffic and travel information
- Liaise with clients, project team members and road authorities regarding project requirements
- Complete research on road and transit design-related issues
- Complete analyses for traffic impact and traffic operational studies
- Prepare technical drawings, reports and memoranda
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Transportation Engineering or Urban planning all other equivalent training.
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in Transportation Planning
- Hold an engineer’s licence from the Professional Engineers of Ontario or equivalent
- Experience completing functional design plans for transit, roads and site layouts and familiarity with related approval processes
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of industry provincial and municipal design standards and practices
- Experience completing traffic operational reviews, traffic impact, access, parking and circulation studies
- Experience using AutoCad, AutoTurn, Synchro, HCS, CCG software and interpreting results
- Exposure to proposal writing, preparation of proposal and contract documents
- Good initiative, attention to details.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
